Hand sanitizer recall list update: FDA bans additional ‘toxic’ sanitizers

Hand sanitizer has become essential in our fight against COVID-19 pandemic but that product you've been using could be dangerous to your health, even life-threatening. The Food and Drug Administration is now banning dozens of hand sanitizers.

The The Food and Drug Administration said 87 different hand sanitizer products are now being recalled because they've tested positive for a chemical called methanol.The substance can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested. It can cause short- and long-term health problems, and be potentially life-threatening if ingested.
